I have always loved anything health and fitness related but after leaving university I thought I should get a ‘proper’ job. So off I went and qualified as a chartered certified accountant whilst using the gym as my second home.
Ten years later (feel old writing that) I decided enough was enough. Every day I was sitting at my desk feeling the damage the sedentary career was doing to my body even with regular exercise. As the legend Joseph Pilates says, ‘If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30. You are old. If it is completely flexible at 60, you are young.’
Following on from qualifying as a Personal Trainer I have become even more interested in movement and ensuring that the clients I train are performing controlled and precise movements to prevent any damage in later life.
I am also a huge believer in movement of any kind aiding a healthy body and mind. Having suffered with anxiety for a long period of my life movement has always been my most successful way of dealing with anything that heightens my symptoms. From this M.B.H Personal Training was born with my aim being to combine The Pilates Method and training techniques to help people achieve their goals, whilst maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
