Creating the Inner Power Pilates studio was a labour of love, tears, blood, sweat and A LOT of cursing.  Family, friends and new clients all helped to make the studio the friendly, warm and inviting place that it is today.  BUT all my love and thanks go to Bob Thorn (my put-upon father) for all the hard work that he put in to get this place up and running.

Mat room

Beautiful new studio

The studio today is a light, airy, inviting place to spend time in.  Fully carpeted, a no outdoor shoe policy and stocked with all the latest equipment.  A vast improvement on teaching in sweaty gyms with loud music next door, or musty church halls with all the personality and aesthetic appeal of a small grey pebble.

Prior to this beautiful space being finished, this is the reason for the angst that we all went through…

Before

Well and truly before…

There was a moment (well, several in fact) where I truly thought that it would never be finished.  This moment was one of those where I despaired of ever actually opening, let alone having people all laid out on purple mats.

The private practice and reformer studio was no different…

Pilates large equipment studio

Pilates reformer studio

Fully equipped, beautifully finished, with two reformers in situ…

Before was a very different story, wood effect panelled walls that refused to be painted were the main bug bear – seven coats later I had lost the will to live, but it was at least white.
